Learn your language of emotions.
Learn your language of emotions.
Color Mending® Therapy is a simple two-process for understanding emotions. First, you color out the emotions. Then, you use the Color and Shapes Charts to decode what your mind and body are trying to tell you.
A different approach to understanding emotions
Unlike traditional talk therapy or journaling, Color Mending doesn’t require you to find the right words for how you’re feeling. This method recognizes that everyone feels emotions differently. There’s no “right” way to experience anger, sadness, or joy.
Through coloring, you treat emotions as clues, not rules. You’re not just processing feelings, you’re learning your unique emotional language and revealing personal patterns while teaching you how to self-regulate.
Developed over 6 years of research and practice with over 250 people of all ages, Color Mending Therapy gives you a personalized roadmap for emotional understanding that works whether you’re 5 or 95.
Colors = Emotions
Shapes = Why You Feel Them
Your body already knows what it needs.
Color Mending simply helps you listen.
How Color Mending Works
Select your focus
Choose what you want to explore - a persistent sensation, recurring emotion, or life transition you’re navigating.
pick heavy or light
Think about your focus, then tune into your body. Does it feel heavy (challenging) or light (positive)?
Color it out
Take the heavy or light feeling and color it out using any color and shape that feels right. Stop when it feels complete.

Meet Chelsea, the creator of color mending
From Emotional Numbness to Empowerment
Chelsea's journey began in 2016 when she could only identify 6 emotions: happy, sad, overwhelmed, angry, anxious, and depressed. After suppressing emotions for years due to cultural and religious conditioning, she found herself emotionally numb and seeking high-intensity experiences just to feel something.
Through her certification in The Integrative Processing Technique and 6 years of developing Color Mending with over 250 individuals, Chelsea discovered that traditional approaches often created dependency rather than empowerment.
Color Mending Therapy was born from her desire to create a tool that helps people stay present, understand their body's signals in real-time, and use emotions as empowering information rather than overwhelming experiences.
Color Mending Therapy Is…
An approach that lets you express emotions without words
A safe way to explore all emotions without judgment
A detective kit for uncovering why you feel certain ways
A tool to understand your own emotional language
A practice to help you name and express emotions productively
Color Mending Therapy is not…
Only a tool for creative or artistic people
A way to diagnose or label mental health conditions
A complex art therapy technique. It is simple and accessible for all ages
A replacement for mental health services. It complements, not substitutes
An activity that is only useful for tough times or bad days
Emotions are clues, not rules
This core principle guides everything we do in Color Mending - helping you see emotions as valuable information for creating the life you truly want.
