Color Mending Professional Certification
Color Mending gives your clients a way to access and process emotions without having to talk about them, and without you having to rebuild your practice to use it.
Built for Therapists, Counselors, and Coaches
✔ You're already doing deep work with your clients.
✔ You're already helping them move through hard things.
✔ Color Mending deepens that work.
It's a neuroscience-based methodology that uses intuitive coloring and body scanning to help people access what's happening emotionally, without needing the words for it first.
If you're a licensed therapist, counselor, life coach, or wellness coach looking for a body-first, non-verbal tool that integrates with what you already do, this certification is for you.

What does it take to get Certified?
Color Mending certification isn't something you jump into. It's something you build toward. Each step prepares you for the next — and each one has value on its own.
The Method - $475
The Coloring Bet - $175
Where the journey begins.
The Coloring Bet is a 21-day program that teaches you how to color intuitively and introduces you to the Color and Shape Charts, the core decoding tool of the Color Mending methodology.
You don't learn Color Mending by reading about it. You learn it by doing it. The Coloring Bet is the experience.
This is a prerequisite for all further training.
*Complete The Coloring Bet within 21 days and the price you paid applies toward The Method (Step #2).
This is where the experience from The Coloring Bet becomes understanding.
The Method is a self-paced, on-demand course that teaches you the science behind Color Mending. You'll learn how mental models shape emotional experience, get an introduction to muscle testing, learn how to use Color Mending with your own family and kids in a personal (non-professional) setting, and get personalized feedback and support from Chelsea for your coloring practice.
This is a prerequisite for the Professional Certification. It must be completed in its entirety before enrolling in a Professional Certification class (Step #3).
Professional Certification - $1125
This is where Color Mending becomes part of your practice.
The Professional Certification is a live, virtual course offered twice per year (in February and August). It runs across 4 half-day sessions.
You’ll learn:
✅ What it means when a client finds an emotion in a specific part of their body
✅ How to read the way someone colors. For example, when they turn the page, color intensely, or destroy the picture during a session
✅ How to use these observations to guide your work with clients
When you complete the certification, you receive a 2-year license to use the Color Mending methodology professionally. You'll also be listed as a certified practitioner and can use the Color Mending Certified Practitioner designation in your marketing, on your website, and in your professional profiles.
License renews every 2 years. Renewal is offered at a discounted rate.
Next cohort: August 2026 — spots are limited!

Color Mending is grounded in evidence-based research. The methodology is built on two established fields:
Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett's Theory of Constructed Emotions
Peer-reviewed interoception research.
Color Mending itself has not been the subject of its own clinical study (yet!), but has been used for the past 6 years in clinical settings.
It is a practical methodology designed on top of research that already exists about how the brain constructs emotional experience.
That's the science you'll learn in Step #2: The Method, and it's the foundation underneath every technique you'll use in the Professional Certification.

No. You don't have to choose between Color Mending and what you already do. They work together.
Color Mending is a tool you reach for when words aren't enough, and it's designed to stay within the boundaries of your existing license and credentials.

Not at all.
You can introduce Color Mending into a single session, fold it into an existing program, or build a new offering around it entirely. The certification gives you maximum creative flexibility.
Most practitioners start by using it in their 1:1 settings, as needed, and expand from there.

What practitioners are saying
Casey Gause, M.S., CCC-SLP
“Not only do I use Color Mending with the children I work with, I've started using Color Mending with parents when their child misses a session. it's become one of the most valuable things I do.
In one session, a mom processed her own anxiety about her teenager's struggles while I listened. By the end, I had a completely new understanding of what skills to focus on with her daughter.
It helped mom. It informed my clinical work. It’s a tool worth having.”
Christina Semenchuk, MSW, LMSW
“I used Color Mending with a child I'd only been seeing for about a month. We were still in the early stages of building rapport. I wasn't sure what to expect, But what came up in their coloring touched on every pattern I had been quietly tracking in my clinical mind.
That kind of validation, for me and for my client, is something I wasn’t expecting.
I've had similar powerful moments using Color Mending with my adult clients too.”
Sara Krier, LPC & School Counselor
“Color Mending HAS helped students who refused to talk finally open up.
I give the decoding charts to my students to interpret their colorings, which helps them find the language to express their inner world to me.
It has helped to build trust more quickly between us.”
